2011 Maine Lobster
Festival
August 1-5, 2011
5 days / 4 nights / 8 meals
Meet a Maine Tour Lobsterette on your arrival in
Portland and don your
souvenir Lobster Hat for this tasty 5 day tour, including plenty of fresh
seafood, with alternate meals available for
any landlubbers. A
traditional
Maine
lobsterbake with all the trimmings is included.
Stay your first night on the outskirts of
Portland, Maine’s largest city-by-the-sea. Make your
way up the coast to
Boothbay
Harbor for a
sightseeing cruise past islands and lighthouses.
Feel the warm summer breezes as
you pass by harbors filled with
lobster boats and sailboats. Try some fresh Maine
blueberries and admire the architecture in small seacoast towns like Camden and Rockland that
make mid-coast Maine
so unique. Settle in for two nights
in the Bar Harbor
area with a narrated morning
tour of Acadia National Park
and an afternoon seal watch cruise
on Frenchman’s Bay. See how
baby lobsters are raised at the lobster hatchery and be charmed by as a
local lobster fisherman explains how the traps are hauled. On Thursday,
you’ll attend the 64th annual
Maine Lobster Festival in Rockland, with music, arts & crafts and
maritime demonstrations, before making your way south for
your final night stay in the southern
Maine
beach region. Not just for seafood lovers – this tour is filled with native
blueberry pie, too!
